Inside the Pure Water Appliance

When it comes to understanding the Pure Water Appliance system it is common for people to believe our system is a one size fits all unit. This is not the case. We custom make each system to the water it will have to treat. We actually use over 90 different configurations of our system to take care of the needs of a specific area, municiple water supply, or personal well. This makes online pricing quite difficult, and if we displayed every machine, quite difficult to understand which unit is the best for your situation, or even if our system is a good fit for you. That is why we always have people ready to discuss any questions you have, and to give you a price directly over the phone. Please read about our system, see if we are what you are looking for, and if so, call our office at (877)859-2904, or feel free to fill out our contact form at the bottom of the page and we will gladly answer all of your questions to the best of our ability.

The First Compartment

Pre-Treatement

The First compartment of our unit is for protecting the rest of the system from the things that can cause damage to it, while also keeping those contaminants out of your household. We always start by filtering the water with a filtration media. The reason we use a media based filter is for the simple reason that it can be automatically cleaned by the system eliminating the need to replace cartridges like you do with most companies equipment. At the media bed depth we use our filtration media at we can filter particles as small as 5 micron while keeping the constant flow rate of the system at 20 gpm. The reason we filter first is two fold. It is much easier to keep the filtration media cleaner if it is the closest to the top of the unit as that is where the drain is for the system, and we do not want any small particulates to clog any of our other medias in the machine to ensure the life span of the Pure Water Appliance.

With our filtration we will generally use another media to take care of additional contaminants we need to remove to protect the unit. In city water applications this means we need to remove the chlorine, and chloramines. With most companies they will use a type of carbon for chlorine and chloramine removal. The problem with this is chlorine and chloramines damage carbon over time requiring replacement. With our system we use a media that strips chemical compounds like chlorine and chloramines. This media, because what it is made of does not break down over time. Meaning we eliminate the need for costly carbon changes. This media has other benefits other than chemical removal. Because of the way it works, by attracting positive ions, it can remove larger positive ions from the water such as metals (copper, iron, zinc) and heavy metals (uranium, Radon, Radox, Aersnic, Lead).

For our Personal Well customers, we will change this compartement depending on your exact problems. With all of our well customers we require you to send us a sample, or the results of an independent labratory analysis so we can build your system to your needs.

The Second Compartment

Bottled Water

Our second compartment of the Pure Water Appliance is what we refer to as the bottled water compartment. It’s primary function is to improve the taste of the water by removing gases, minerals, and other things that can cause bad taste or odors. Its secondary function is to protect your house from the different trace chemicals that the cities do not completely remove. Here we use a proprietary blend of different medias depending on where the system is going to remove these contaminants. We have the ability to remove multiple different chemical compounds including over 80 different volatile organic chemicals (VOC’s), over 90 different synthetic organic chemicals (SOC’s), nitrates, nitrites, PFAS chemicals including glyphosates, and different trace hormones that can be present in some water supplies. This compartment is protected by the first compartment, giving us the ability to use a wider range of medias that will not be harmed by the chlorine and chloramines the cities add to the water

For our personal well customers we offer the same chemical removal mentioned above for our city water customers. This being said, when designing a system for a personal well we will change the media composition to fix your particular problem. This is where proper testing of your water is very important as Texas is a big state with very different problems depending on where you live. We have the ability to add extra capacity for things like sulfur or iron here, or if you have a particularly high amount of a certian chemical compound we can make those changes as well. Contacting us and asking to send us a sample, or to get accredited labratories to send a sample too is always recommended for our well customers.

The Third Compartment

Softening and Conditioning

The final compartment of the Pure Water Appliance is for handling calcium and magnesium, which are the primary causes of hard water build up. Here with the Pure Water Appliance we are the only company in America that offer you the ability to operate your system as a salt-free unit, a unit that regenerates with potassium, or a unit that regenerates with salt. Depending on the area you live in is how we will recommend you operate the unit. We are not married to a single media, or a single process, we simply offer and recommend what is the best for your household, your body, and the health of your family.

For our well customers we offer the same process as mentioned above. That being said it is common in certain areas of Texas to need a different media in this compartment. The most common example of this would be the need to remove tannins which would require an anion resin. This is where testing your particular well and designing the system directly to your water is very important.

We hope this information helps you to understand the Pure Water Appliance system. If you have any questions, would like a price, or would like to know how to get your water tested feel free to contact our main office at (877)859-2904 or fill out the form below and we will contact you.
